SINDH Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has inaugurated the Sindh Job Portal, a fully digital platform designed to make government recruitment across the province transparent, efficient and technology-driven. Speaking at the ceremony held for the purpose, he said the initiative aligns with the vision of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, recalling her slogan ‘Benazir aayi hai, rozgaar laayi hai’. Initially introduced for grades 5 to 15, the system has now been expanded to cover all job grades, providing a unified, end-to-end digital process — from application and testing to interview scheduling, offer letters and background checks. This is, indeed, a ray of hope for job-seekers to get the one purely on merit as the digital system devised by the province is fairly comprehensive minimizing the possibility of favouritism. This is because the entire process from creation of posts to recruitments/interviews has been digitized eliminating delays and undue influence as all information relating to candidates will be available at a click to review. Key features of the initiative include: AI-based job matching and voice search in Urdu and English, multilingual support in Urdu, Sindhi and English, integration with Health and Police Special Branch for online medical and character verification, real-time SMS and email notifications for applicants. The PPP is known as a job provider party and this initiative will further strengthen this image and reputation provided the new system is allowed to work in a transparent manner. Selection of candidates on merit will not only eliminate the sense of deprivation among those who have no worthwhile political or other connections and also help improve efficiency and delivery of service.
