She Faced Rejection For Her ‘Good Looks,’ Won A National Award, And Built A Rs 100 Crore Business Empire

Becoming successful in the entertainment industry is no easy feat, especially when you are an outsider. One has to go through a lot of highs and lows to succeed in the cutthroat showbiz world. One such actress who has defied all odds and cemented a special place in the hearts of many with her acting prowess is Kriti Sanon. Before entering films, Kriti Sanon was an engineering student in Delhi with dreams bigger than textbooks. She made her Bollywood debut opposite Tiger Shroff in Heropanti (2014). Her fresh charm and confident screen presence immediately caught attention, and the rest, as they say, is history. From Bareilly Ki Barfi and Luka Chuppi to Housefull 4, the Bollywood stunner showcased versatility and charm that made her one of the most bankable actresses of her generation. In 2021, Kriti stunned audiences with her powerful performance in Mimi. Her portrayal earned her the prestigious National Film Award, solidifying her place among India’s finest actors. She also won hearts opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the 2015 film Dilwale, but you will be amazed to know that Kriti once faced rejection for being “too good-looking”? Shocking it may sound, but it’s true. In an interview with HT Digital, Kriti recalled crying during her struggling days. She said, “There were days when I was annoyed and irritated. On some days, I used to cry, because there was nothing to keep me busy. There were also times when I met a few people who told me that something was not right about me — someone told me, ‘You’re too good-looking.” “There has to be some sort of imperfection in you to look real on screen.’ I think I did feel low, but at the same time, I did have people who believed in me a lot. That’s what you need. I think that gave me a little more confidence,” she added. Being a true ‘skin-care nerd,’ Kriti launched her beauty brand Hyphen in 2023. The brand has achieved the revenue of Rs 400 crore in just 2 years. Besides Hyhen, the National Award-winning actress owns multiple ventures like Ms Taken, The Tribe, and a production company called Blue Butterfly Films. She also invested in a 2,000 sq ft Alibaug plot and owns a luxury three-bedroom house in Juhu. Among her assets, she also owns some of the best luxury cars, including an Audi Q7 SUV, a Mercedes-Benz E-class, and a BMW 3-Series. From rejection for being “too perfect” to ruling Bollywood and business, Kriti Sanon’s net worth now stands at Rs 82 crore (as of 2024), reported CNBCTV18.
