Concourse Hires Former Vertical Executive As Head Of Acquisitions

EXCLUSIVE: Ahead of the American Film Market, LA-based sales firm Concourse Media has appointed Kristin Harris as its new Head of Acquisitions. Harris most recently served as SVP of Production & Development at distributor Vertical Entertainment, where she worked on movies including The Astronaut, Sharp Corner, Sam & Kate, Abandoned, Prey, Parallel, and The Bayou. Prior to her tenure at Vertical, she held senior posts at Good Deed Entertainment, and also worked for Cineverse, Overture Films and Starz Media. At Concourse, Harris will oversee all aspects of the firm’s acquisition and packaging strategy, working closely with company head Matthew Shreder and the company’s financing partners to identify viable projects. Shreder launched the company 15 years ago, after exiting IM Global, which it now holds close to 50 films in its library. Titles include The Little Hours, Chief of Station, and Sovereign. “Concourse has become a trusted mainstay in the indie film forum over the past 15 years and I’m honored to be leading the charge on their global content strategy,” said Harris. “As the company enters this new phase, I’m committed to supporting distinct filmmaking voices and connecting their compelling stories with consumer audiences.” “Independent films thrive on agility, authenticity, and creative distribution,” added Shreder. “It’s a fast-moving market with audiences hungry for originality, and Concourse is doubling down to support the demand for quality, elevated content.”
