Actor Sharwanand, who recently surprised fans with his remarkable physical transformation, has opened up about the emotional and physical challenges behind it. The Telugu star revealed that his journey toward fitness began after a life-changing skydiving accident and was later strengthened by the birth of his daughter, who inspired him to prioritise his health. ‘My daughter made me value health’ Speaking to The Times of India, Sharwanand said fatherhood completely altered his perspective on well-being and discipline. “After my daughter was born, I realised how important health really is. I had never worked out before in my life, but that phase made me introspect deeply. It made me focus on my health, my body and my soul. Today, health is not just a goal for me, it’s a way of life. I want to stay strong and present for my family, and that’s what keeps me going,” he said. The actor, who shared shirtless monochrome photos in October showcasing his new look for his upcoming film Biker, credited his family for keeping him motivated through his fitness transformation. From 92 kg to a leaner frame Sharwanand recalled that his health took a hit after a skydiving accident in 2019, which left him with a hand injury and led to prolonged medication. “My turning point came in 2019. I met with an accident and had to undergo surgery on my hand. I was on antibiotics for a long time, which made me constantly hungry. I gained weight and went up to 92 kilos. I didn’t realise how much I had changed until much later. About two years ago, I started walking regularly to stay active,” he said. After reaching 92 kilos, Sharwanand gradually worked on rebuilding his fitness and is now back to 70 kilos. His dedication to the process, he said, has changed not just his body but also his mindset. Upcoming projects The actor’s renewed focus on health also came with professional benefits. For Biker, directed by Abhilash Reddy Kankara, Sharwanand had to portray an 18-year-old — a role that demanded youthful energy and physical agility. He is also awaiting the release of Nari Nari Naduma Murari and Bhogi, following his appearance in Manamey earlier this year. Career milestones Sharwanand, who began his film journey in 2004 with Aidho Tareekhu, has made a mark in Telugu and Tamil cinema. Known for films like Prasthanam, Run Raja Run, Express Raja, Shatamanam Bhavati, and Mahanubhavudu, he has also received acclaim for performances in Malli Malli Idi Rani Roju and Engeyum Eppothum. His work has earned him honours such as the Nandi Special Jury Award and the SIIMA Award for Best Male Debut (Tamil).
