'My son begs me not to go to school - the video I found on his phone told me why'

A mum said she fears every time her son leaves for school following the discovery of disturbing content on his mobile phone. The 13 year old boy has allegedly been subjected to a series of "unprovoked" hate crimes and racial abuse by fellow pupils at his Maghull school, Merseyside , over the past year. Karol Krysinski, whose son is in Year 8 at Maricourt Catholic High School, claims she found distressing videos on his mobile showing him being "abused, threatened, and blackmailed." She said: "He suffered silently each time, overcome with fear and shame." Merseyside Police have confirmed they are investigating the situation after receiving reports of hate crime and assault involving a schoolboy at a school in Maghull. Maricourt High School has responded by stating that the safety and welfare of its students is a "priority" and that it has a "robust" set of behaviour policies and procedures in place. Karol alleges that the most recent attack happened on school premises on Monday, November 3, resulting in her son being taken to Alder Hey Children's Hospital due to a facial injury, reports the Liverpool Echo . Karol, from Bootle, Liverpool, said her son will need surgery and they are awaiting a hospital appointment. She said she received a phone call from her upset son earlier this week and collected him from the school to take him to hospital. A shocking video of an attack, which reportedly happened around two weeks ago at the school, has been shared with the ECHO by the child's parent. In the clip, a pupil can be seen sitting on a bench when he is approached by two other boys. The pair can be seen grabbing the boy's backpack before dragging him across the floor. He is then attacked before being involved in an altercation with another student. Karol said: "There's a real threat to my 13-year-old son's health and even life. My son is experiencing a terrible ordeal, constantly beaten, insulted and humiliated "The perpetrators are recording videos of themselves beating my son on their phones and then posting them on social media. As a parent I fear that one day this will end in a tragedy. "It's gotten so bad. Every day when we are trying to get him to go to school he begs us not to go. It's very worrying for a parent. "Situations like this should never happen, especially not at school. We all have small children and it's undeniable that children should feel safe, especially at school." The parents have reported the incidents to Merseyside Police. A spokesperson for the force said officers are investigating the incident and working with the school to identify the suspects responsible. Neighbourhood Inspector Ken Sumner said: “We are carrying out enquires into this and are working with the school to identify suspects responsible for these offences. “Such violence and hate will not be tolerated, and we will take action. We have increased high-visibility patrols around the school to prevent offences from taking place. “We are also working with the school to put further measures in place to prevent such racist behaviour from pupils. Educating them is key for them understand that such behaviour is unacceptable and hateful. “In Merseyside, we believe that everyone should be able to live their lives without fear of being subjected to verbal or physical abuse. “We are committed to tackling hate in our communities and would strongly encourage all victims to come forward and report such incidents. “Where we identify a crime, we take firm action and offer the support of partner agencies to ensure the person reporting gets the assistance they need to feel safe.” A spokesperson for Maricourt Catholic High School said: "While we do not comment on individual cases, the safety and care of our children is a priority and we have a robust set of behaviour policies and procedures in place. "We take any allegation of inappropriate behaviour extremely seriously and violence would never be tolerated. At Maricourt, we place great value on rewarding good behaviour and everyone in school is aware of the high expectations we have."
