The Seattle Seahawks acquired wide receiver Rashid Shaheed in a trade with the New Orleans Saints before the NFL trade deadline on Tuesday, parting with fourth and fifth-round draft picks in exchange for him. Surrendering a pair of draft choices may seem like a bit of a steep price to pay for a player headed toward free agency, but Shaheed has already offered some reassurances regarding his future, calling Seattle his “long-term home” on Wednesday. The following year, the Weber State product hauled in 46 receptions for 719 yards and five touchdowns while also punching in a punt-return score, earning him a Pro Bowl appearance and a First-Team All-Pro selection. A knee injury limited the 27-year-old to just six games in 2024, but during his time on the field, he averaged an impressive 17.5 yards per catch.
