Benidorm Palace is set to echo with music, laughter, and a profound sense of purpose as the 14th annual Save My Life charity gala takes place on Sunday, on Sunday, October 14. But this year, the event carries an extra layer of heartfelt emotion: a dedication to Vicente Climent, the late visionary behind the iconic venue, whose unwavering love for animals and philanthropy touched countless lives. In a poignant social media post shared by Christine Climent, Vicente’s widow, owner of Benidorm Palace and president of the Save My Life animal charity, she announced the tribute. “Today is the day SAVE MY LIFE 14 is happening at Benidorm Palace,” Christine wrote. “As president of this courageous and amazing charity, I wish to dedicate today’s event in honour of my husband, Vicente. Few people knew just how much Vicente loved animals and was a constant support and help to me and to Save My Life in so many ways. He was so proud of the work we do and continue to do. He will be with us today, I’m sure, beating his drum from Heaven. Vicente, this will be the first Save My Life event without you in the wings urging us on, but I know you will be there in spirit. Love and miss you, my darling.” Benidorm Palace lives on with spirit of Vicente Climent Vicente Climent, who passed away on June 26, 2025, at age 78, was a trailblazing pioneer of Costa Blanca entertainment. Born in 1946, he founded Benidorm Palace in 1977, transforming it into a glittering landmark that has welcomed over 16 million guests. The venue’s stage has hosted luminaries like Julio Iglesias and Alejandro Sanz, along with pageants such as Miss España. Honoured with lifetime achievement awards, including the 2023 Premis Turisme Comunitat Valenciana, Vicente was the very embodiment of hospitality, often saying, “If we make people happy, we are happy too.” Survived by Christine, son David, and daughter Joanna, his legacy of hard work and warmth continues, as tributes poured in following his death from business associates to devoted fans. Launched in 2012 amid rising animal abandonment in the region, Save My Life has rescued over 500 animals through partnerships with groups like Somos Gos and Protectora de Animales de Benidorm. Funds support adoptions, sterilisation, and shelter care—efforts Vicente championed quietly but fiercely. Last year’s sold-out gala drew 900+ attendees, raising thousands in a celebration of community spirit. Tickets are €12, with an optional €10 meal (fish or pie and chips). As drums beat and spotlights shine, Vicente’s spirit will fill every corner of the Benidorm Palace, reminding us at every moment that true pioneers light paths for compassion. For animal lovers and entertainment seekers, this gala is more than just a social an event. It will be a loving tribute to the man who made it all happen and who continues to inspire.
