Raut himself informed his supporters about his illness through a social media post, revealing that his condition had suddenly deteriorated and that he is currently undergoing treatment. He said that doctors have advised him not to step out or mingle with people for now. In a post on X, he shared a letter addressed to his “friends, family, and party workers,” informing them about his ill health. He expressed confidence that he would recover soon and return to active political life. “You all have always shown faith and love towards me, for which I am grateful. However, recently I have encountered some serious health issues. A prominent face of the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) and a key opposition voice in Maharashtra, Raut has been known for his sharp criticism of BJP and its allies. He has been active in Maharashtra politics for several decades and is considered one of the closest aides of former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
