As we featured previously during the reserve campaign, and as detailed over at 9to5Google, Samsung has now unleashed the new Galaxy XR goggles. Formally known as Project Moohan, Galaxy XR is now official and up for purchase with a special Explorer’s pack valued at over $1,140 – the details await below. The new Galaxy XR is made in collaboration with Google and Qualcomm and comes powered by Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage to run the VR-like experience. There are a pair of 4K micro-OLED panels and loads of cameras for “high-res” imagery, tracking the world around you, and eye-tracking, as expected. Galaxy XR comes in at $1,799 but is also shipping with a lengthy list of extras valued at over $1,140 for FREE. There are also some bundle deals for folks looking to expand the experience at up to 30% off – Galaxy XR Controller for $174.99, the XR Travel case at $174.99, or the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro at $174.99, all of which carry $250 regular price tags. Clearly this is a pretty serious investment, but I for one thought it was going to be something closer to double this price – Samsung and its partners here are at least looking to bring some additional value to the proposition with a host of add-on content you can land during the launch phase for FREE: For here and now, we are focused on taking a look at the complete package on offer from Samsung right now as part of the XR launch.
