Ruben Amorim admits Manchester United still have 'a LOT of problems' despite five-game unbeaten run

Ruben Amorim is not getting carried away with Manchester United's five-game unbeaten run as he insists his side still have 'a lot of problems'. Matthijs de Ligt nodded home at the back post from a Bruno Fernandes corner to snatch United a point from the jaws of defeat against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday afternoon. It extends an impressive unbeaten run under Amorim, who was awarded the Premier League's Manager of the Month after his side's victories over Sunderland, Liverpool and Brighton in October. Before their dramatic last-gasp equaliser in north London, they also drew against Nottingham Forest last week, meaning the Red Devils haven't tasted defeat since September 27 at the hands of Brentford. But Amorim, who is on his best run since taking the Old Trafford hotseat last November, is keeping his feet firmly on the ground. 'We have a lot of problems, the United head coach said after the game. 'We are just in the beginning. I know that sometimes the results show to people that we are improving. We are improving but we have a lot to do.' Amorim went on to reference that he had to make enforced changes to the defensive units of his side in Harry Maguire and Casemiro, after which his side went on to concede to goals. He did heap praise on his side for being able to 'overcome' the adversity of Mathys Tel and Richarlison's rapid double to put Spurs into the lead in injury time, but said they should 'do better' when they had control of the tie. 'If you look at the rest of the game we were comfortable,' Amorim continued. 'But I think we should do better, be more aggressive, feeling the environment in the stadium that the three points were there, the space was there and I think we felt too comfortable during the game. 'We need to expect that in one play, anything can happen and change the mood of the stadium - and today was that. So I think we controlled it well, the game, but we need to do better because the game was there to take.' Amorim now has an international break to mull over his side's performance in north London before they host Everton at Old Trafford on November 24. Speaking to TNT Sports post-match, the head coach said he goes into the break with 'a little bit of frustration' but 'pride' at his players' response to Tottenham's second goal. 'I understand that this is just the tip of the iceberg', Amorim told the broadcaster. 'We are just in the beginning of becoming a very strong team. 'So we have a lot to do and we are going to work with the guys that are not going to the national team and we are going to evaluate everything, trying to see also games from the kids. 'So try to use this space on evolution of our club, not just the first team.' The United boss may also use the two-week break to plot a potential venture into the transfer market for a forward after hinting that Benjamin Sesko may have suffered a long-term knee injury today. The £74million Slovenian was forced off just 30 minutes after suffering a knock in Saturday's clash with Spurs, and Amorim said he was 'concerned with the injury because it's in the knee.' He then did not rule out the possibility of adding new signings in January with the potential injury adding to Bryan Mbeumo, Amad Diallo and Noussair Mazraoui being away for up to a month at the Africa Cup of Nations. 'Of course, we are going to have a problem there, but we already knew that,' he added. 'So the management of that situation is going to be hard. But let's see when the window is open, if we can improve the team and try to repair something that happened. Until then, we have to take the chance.
