Ronda Rousey Mocks Joe Rogan's Fighting Experience: 'Fan With an Audience'

Professional wrestler Ronda Rousey mocked Joe Rogan’s fighting experience during a recent podcast appearance with Bert Kreischer and described him as a “fan with an audience.” Newsweek has contacted a representative for Rogan via email for comment. Why It Matters Rousey, 38, is retired but remains one of the biggest names in the history of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and WWE. Rousey was the first-ever women’s UFC champion, but she hasn’t fought since she lost to Amanda Nunes back in 2016. Ronda Rousey attends FIGHT LIKE A MOTHER: Ronda Rousey on Fighting, Family, and Her Groundbreaking Graphic Novel with AWA during New York Comic Con 2025 at The Jacob K. Javits Convention Center on October 10, 2025 in New York City. Rogan, 58, is one of the most influential podcast hosts in the world. He often tops Spotify’s podcast chart, has over 20 million subscribers on YouTube, and has had a long career as a UFC commentator. What To Know Rousey’s remarks came toward the end of what was mainly a light-hearted podcast episode for Kreischer. Kreischer asked the former bantamweight champion what it would take for her to return to fighting. Rousey said that she would consider fighting if the prize was Kreischer’s house. “I will beat the s*** out of you in your backyard for this house,” she said in response. “Let’s go, right now. Now or never. Kreischer then said he had been speaking to Rogan about how long he would need to train to fight Rousey, and Rousey wasted no time making her thoughts on Rogan’s sporting experience clear. “He wouldn’t know,” she said. “He’s not an expert, he’s a fan with an audience.” Kreischer then moved to defend Rogan. Rogan does have sporting experience, and holds a black belt in Taekwondo, as well as a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt. Rogan has competitive experience but has not competed professionally. Kreischer mentioned Rogan having fought Taekwondo to which she replied, “That’s not fighting.” Rousey’s remarks come shortly after she said that she would not fight at the upcoming UFC cage match at the White House. A UFC event is set to take place at the White House in 2026, to mark the 250th anniversary of American independence. When asked if anyone had reached out to her about the White House event, Rousey replied, “I’m not fighting at the White House,” and said “I got better s*** to do.” Her remarks were met with a mixed response online. What People Are Saying Social media user @DovySimuMMA, in a post on X viewed over 600,000 times, sharing a clip of the podcast: “Ronda Rousey rips Joe Rogan regarding his Martial Arts experience.” Chris Manno, the former NFL athlete, in a post on X viewed over 40,000 times: “Man. A decade later, she still doesn’t get it. It’s not at all that you lost. And that’s why you’re not beloved. Chuck lost. Nate lost. Dustin lost. Conor lost. It’s HER that’s just so ungrateful, and bitter, and unlikable. Sucks too, bc she is an absolute pioneer. Changed the game for sure.” The official account for Barstool sports, in a post on X viewed over 300,000 times: “You Will NOT Catch Ronda Rousey Putting Respect on Joe Rogan’s Name Anytime Soon.” What’s Next Rousey has been doing press as she promotes her new graphic novel, something she may well continue to do, and where she is likely to continue to be pressed on a return to fighting. The UFC White House event is slated to take place in June of 2026, although very few details have been released.
