With a 5-2 record, the Los Angeles Rams are tied with the Seattle Seahawks for the best record in the NFC West. They seem to be the favorites to finish first in the division, and they certainly appear to have the most talented team in the division. While their defense already ranks third in the NFL in points allowed, they upgraded it by acquiring cornerback Roger McCreary from the Tennessee Titans just a few days ago. The trade deadline is this coming Tuesday, and one has to wonder if the Rams will make another move to solidify their chances of winning the Super Bowl championship. Head coach Sean McVay didn’t rule out such a move. “I wouldn’t say no,” McVay told reporters, per NBC Sports. “It’s not something that we’ve really talked about. I think if certain opportunities arise that you feel like give you a chance to be able to significantly upgrade your football team, but I feel really good about our group and the growth that I still think can be had from us in spite of doing some good things. That’s really in all three phases. It hasn’t been something that we’ve really talked about, but I certainly would never rule that out.” Read more: Dolphins Receive Major Trade Update From NFL Insider BALTIMORE, MARYLAND – OCTOBER 12: Head coach Sean McVay of the Los Angeles Rams looks on during the first half against the Baltimore Ravens in the game at M&T Bank Stadium on October 12, 2025 in Baltimore, Maryland. (Photo by Patrick Smith/Getty Images) The Rams certainly have a recent track record of striking while the iron is hot on the trade market. In 2021, they traded Jared Goff and three draft picks, two of which were first-rounders, to the Detroit Lions for quarterback Matthew Stafford. Then, at midseason, they shipped a second and third-round pick to the Denver Broncos for linebacker Von Miller, a former Super Bowl MVP. Those moves resulted in Los Angeles claiming the Vince Lombardi Trophy that season. While some criticized the team for giving up so much draft capital, it has done a fantastic job of drafting ever since, and it now has a cadre of young studs, especially on defense. Other than perhaps an heir apparent to the 37-year-old Stafford, L.A. doesn’t seem to have any big roster needs right now. It has two of the game’s better wide receivers in Puka Nacua and Davante Adams, and Kyren Williams continues to be a solid running back. On defense, pass rusher Byron Young entered Thursday third in the league with nine sacks.
