Ronda Rousey is one of the pioneers of MMA, elevating the sport to unprecedented heights. While she was revered during her dominant run in the UFC, how the fans and media treated her after her subsequent losses and eventual retirement has left a sour taste in her mouth.During episode #700 of comedian Bert Kreischer's Bretcast podcast, 'Rowdy' went scorched earth on MMA fandom and media, accusing them of a shockingly short memory. As the inaugural UFC women's bantamweight champion sees it, the MMA realm is quick to dismiss a fighter's achievements after a single loss, urging many greats to consider a premature retirement, out of fear of a decline:"MMA fans and the media are the most 'What have you done for us lately crowd' of any sport. You look at WWE and they have such a reverence for their legends, and in MMA it's like the second that you are not on top, you are not s**t, you never were s**t... When Chuck Liddell was on top, [the fan and media were like] 'Oh, my god. He is the best.' The second he loses. 'Oh, Chuck Liddell is ain't s**t, he never was s**t. 'Rampage' Jackson. 'Oh, he is the next Mike Tyson. He is so great.' The second he loses, 'Oh, 'Rampage' ain't s**t, he never was s**t. 'GSP' [Georges St-Pierre] loses. 'He's not s**t he never was s**t.'"Rousey added:"I think the only reason why the MMA fans have their lips so firmly planted at the base of Khabib [Nurmagomedov's] [expletive] is because he retired before he reached his limit, and if he kept fighting till he reached his limit, everybody would be like, Khabib ain't s**t, he never was s**t... It's really sad because it encourages people to try and get out while they are peaking and taking all of that equity with them instead of passing it on to whoever is next."Check out Ronda Rousey's comments below: View this post on Instagram Instagram PostRonda Rousey explains why she is the GOAT of women's MMADespite the tough losses during the latter end of her career, Ronda Rousey still considers herself the greatest woman MMA fighter of all time. Talking to Bert Kreischer, the former UFC fighter, explained the rationale behind the belief. As the 38-year-old sees it, her dominance in her era, unmatched by any other female fighters in their's cemented her legacy as the undisputed greatest fighter in the history of women's mixed martial arts:"I define the greatest ever as the person who was the most dominant and the farthest ahead of their time. Right? because you can't judge different eras against each other. You can't judge LeBron [James] against Michael Jordan. Michael Jordan is the greatest ever I'd say, because of the effect that he had on culture, how far ahead of his time he was, and how dominant he was, and no one can say that I haven't been the most dominant or most ahead of my time, and I'll die on that hill."
