A Northwest contemporary townhome in South Portland with floor-to-ceiling windows, balconies and a private boat slip offering views of the Willamette River, city skyline and Mount Hood is for sale at $1,595,000. The two-story customized home at 6126 S. Riverpoint Lane was put on the market Sept. 29 and an offer was accepted 23 days later on Oct. 22. The sale is now pending. “This is certainly not your average townhome,” said broker Chelsea Ausland, who shares the listing with Randi Ausland, both with Metro West Realty. “The original owner custom built this riverfront unit and the architectural, custom touches throughout are just exceptional. This home feels like you’re on vacation.” The townhome, built in 1980, has 4,163 square feet of living space with large windows rising to vertical wood grain ceilings. The living room’s gas fireplace is surrounded by brown marble and the formal dining room has a space with a wet bar and wine fridge. A transparent kitchen wall with see-through cabinetry frames garden views and a glass-enclosed sunroom has an eating area fronting a wood-burning fireplace. The primary suite on the second level has a seating area around a fireplace and a balcony overlooking the river. There are two more bedrooms and bathrooms. Outside, home shoppers have been drawn to the private boat slip and miles of riverside paths, said Chelsea Ausland. “The right buyer will certainly appreciate the high-end, bespoke design features and the peacefulness of such a close-in location,” she said. Ausland told The Oregonian/OregonLive that people interested in the townhome may include: A retired couple looking for low-maintenance, townhome-style living with easy access to the water, trails and downtown Portland. A professional who works in the city or nearby Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) and is looking for a place with exceptional views, and access to nature and water. “This is more than a home,” Ausland said. “It’s an experience. ... minutes from fine waterfront dining and amenities. This one-of-a-kind home will blow your mind.”
