Last year alone, extreme weather events triggered $8.6 billion in insurance claims in Canada. First Onsite Property Restoration announced its acquisition of Restoration By Trades (RBT), a full-service property restoration company in Kelowna. The acquisition reflects the industry’s shift toward coast-to-coast networks to help support homeowners and businesses during disasters. Founded in 2020 by co-owners Giles Evans, Brie Greenwood, and Ken Kilpatrick, RBT’s services include emergency response to flood, fire, and storm events, as well as complex claims restoration services. RBT has now become the Kelowna branch of First Onsite, where the three co-owners will maintain their leadership roles and continue to serve their customers with First Onsite’s resources. “We were very impressed by RBT’s experienced leadership team, including the team’s strong capabilities and its respected local relationships in Kelowna,” said Peter Corsano, executive Vice President of Operations at First Onsite. First Onsite has nearly two decades of experience responding to floods, wildfires, and evacuations in British Columbia. With this acquisition, the company now has five branches in the province: Kelowna, Fraser Valley, Fort St. John, Metro Vancouver, and Victoria.
