Republic temporarily suspends Endcash services

Republic Bank has advised that its Endcash services will be unavailable until further notice, but Preston George, general manager of the bank’s group marketing and communications, assured customers that the move is not permanent. In a notice posted to Facebook yesterday, the institution wrote, “Please be advised that all Endcash services will be unavailable until further notice. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.” The announcement sparked a wave of comments, with some saying the banks are “going backwards,” while others questioned whether money transferred to their Endcash accounts from their bank accounts will be reimbursed. The Express reached out to George via e-mail who said, “Please be advised that the current situation is a temporary disruption of the service and not a permanent one.” According to the Endcash website, the app was created to help “stay in control of your finances while keeping you connected with your friends, family and business”. “Our simple to use, intuitive, feature-rich App will virtually transform the way you conduct your financial transactions while incorporating our love for liming online,” the website stated. Endcash is a free social network platform with a completely digital payment eco-system. “We’re passionate about introducing fresh, innovative ideas and solutions that challenge the norm and encourages us to step into the future. Our mission is to provide a digital payment platform that offers a safe, cash-less experience that embodies our Trinidad and Tobago culture, vibe and personality,” the website added. Endcash was launched in March 2021 and has since been introduced in spaces like the Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturers’ Association’s annual trade show held at the Centre of Excellence.
