Sunderland manager Regis Le Bris has confirmed his side used some bizarre tactics to gain an advantage over Arsenal in their 2-2 draw in the Premier League on Saturday evening. The Black Cats took a first-half lead through Dan Ballard before Bukayo Saka and Leandro Trossard gave the Gunners the lead in the second half. But summer signing Brian Brobbey netted a dramatic 94th-minute equaliser to earn the home side a valuable point against the league leaders. But it was noted during the live Sky Sports broadcast that Sunderland had implemented some bizarre measures in order to gain an edge on their opponents on the night, something they've previously done in the playoff semi-final last season. Commentator Alan Smith noted that the advertising boards had been moved forward to be closer to the pitch for this game, meaning Arsenal's set-piece options were more limited from long throws than they would usually be. Regis Le Bris Confirms Sunderland Tactics vs Arsenal While speaking to BBC Sport after the game, Le Bris was asked if the tactic was intentional to stop Arsenal and he admitted that they had used it to stop the Gunners having an advantage on set-pieces. "Yeah, we tried to find the details to win the game and they are really strong on set pieces. "We were good as well. It was something obvious, that this threat was really important for this game, and in the end it was balanced." The Gunners have scored the most goals from set-pieces in the Premier League this season with 12, but they failed to convert from one in this game, and it will now be very interesting to see if other clubs take a similar route to stopping them. Sunderland have had a terrific season so far since returning to the top-flight, and now have 19 points from their 11 games so far, sitting them fourth place in the table and only seven points behind their opponents who are top.
