A Governing Board of the Ghana Boundary Commission, chaired by the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Emmanuel Armah Kofi-Buah, has officially been constituted and sworn into office. The brief but dignified ceremony was held at the Jubilee House on October 28, 2025, under the supervision of Chief of Staff Mr Julius Debrah. It brought together Ministers of State and representatives from key state institutions mandated by the Ghana Boundary Commission Act 1123 of 2024 to serve on the Board. In his address, Julius underscored the critical role of Ghana’s international boundaries in safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He emphasised that boundary management goes beyond imaginary lines, and added that it entails transforming border zones into hubs of socio-economic development. The Chief of Staff commended the inter-ministerial composition of the Board, describing it as a nerve centre of government. He further highlighted some of the major achievements of the Commission since its operationalisation in 2021 and urged the members to build on those achievements by embracing technology to advance the protection of Ghana’s territorial interests. Responding on behalf of the Board, Hon. Emmanuel Armah Kofi-Buah reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to upholding the vision of H.E. President John Dramani Mahama. He also committed to the protection, defence, and sustainable management of the country’s international boundaries.
