A hip-hop legend has died aged 51 after suffering from complications due to a brain aneurysm, it was revealed today. Young Bleed , whose real name was Glenn Clifton Jr, passed away on Saturday after being taken to hospital days earlier following a collapse in Las Vegas. The star, whose gold-certified debut album was a Top 10 hit in the US, honed his rhyming skills in the streets of Baton Rouge , Louisiana, from the age of nine. He was known for hits such as How Ya Do That, part of the 1997 soundtrack for the film I'm Bout It, reports the Mirror. The star's son Ty'Gee Ramon Clifton confirmed that his father had died in an Instagram video , captioned: "RIP to the biggest legend I know." Addressing followers in the clip, he said: "As of November 1st, my dad gained his wings. This is a tough topic for me - not sure how it's going to go. But I am here to clear up a lot of false narratives." He added: "I know with him being a legend worldwide, all lot of people were concerned for him, they wasn't sure what they heard. So I'm here to confirm as his oldest child that he has gained his wings. "My dad was 51 years out when this happened to him... The My dad didn't have no real health issues, these are just chapters in life. I hope after this video that people that are going through grieving moments find peace in this video." He added: "My dad like most as you get in [older] in age take had high blood pressure. He would take his medicines... Once he collapsed he did pass from the aneurysm, the bleed to the brain." Tributes poured in for the star, with one writing: "RIP Young Bleed Thank you for everything." Another told Ty'Gee: "Sorry to hear about your dad man. He’s definitely a legend man. Now u gotta carry the torch!" A third said: "RIP YOUNG BLEED your father was a real icon smooth with it on the mic. I send my deepest condolences to you and your family during this hard time." Young Bleed began his his career in the '90s with No Limit Records, which was notable for his collaboration with C-Loc, How Ya Do Dat, which was remixed by Master P. He later signed with Master P, before returning to making solo records. He launched his own record label, Trap Door Entertainment in 2010.
