Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby has seen his name tossed around in trade rumors quite a bit over the last week, so much so that he was asked about it at his locker. Crosby declined to comment on the speculation, all of which seems odd considering that the four-time Pro Bowler signed a three-year, $106.5 million contract extension with the Raiders back in March. Raiders owner Mark Davis was asked about Crosby and the team’s decision not to move him at the Fall League Meeting this week, and he made his stance on the situation abundantly clear. “I don’t know how many times I’ve got to say it,” Davis said, via Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo of NFL media. “It’s really hard to keep getting asked the same question every month or week or whatever when the answer’s going to stay the same. Davis added that any Crosby trade discussions that even occurred started with other teams, indicating that the Raiders may have received phone calls on Crosby but didn’t necessarily engage with any other clubs voluntarily. Crosby was originally selected by the Raiders back in the 2019 NFL Draft and immediately established himself as a dynamic force, racking up 47 tackles and 10 sacks during his rookie campaign. The Eastern Michigan product has posted three double-digit sack seasons as a whole, topping out at 14.5 in 2023. Last year, Crosby missed five games due to injury and still managed to register 45 tackles and 7.5 sacks en route to his fourth straight Pro Bowl appearance. Through seven games this season, the 28-year-old has logged 28 tackles, four sacks, an interception and five passes defended. He also has shown no indication that he wants out, at least not publicly. Las Vegas is 2-5 on the year and has a bye this weekend.
