Raiders Expected to Sign Former All-Pro Receiver Amid Jakobi Meyers Rumors

The Las Vegas Raiders are expected to make a huge move for a wide receiver, as it’s been reported that a former All-Pro who was with Pete Caroll and the Seattle Seahawks will join the team. This is huge news amid the rumors of a Jakobi Meyers deal. More news: Rams Get Huge Injury Return News on Puka Nacua Meyers requested a trade in August of this year, but the Raiders did not grant him that request. Now, there are more reports that teams are starting to make a major push for the star receiver. It sounds like the Raiders will stand pat with Meyers on the team, unless someone offers something in the tune of a first-round pick, which is unlikely to happen. With Meyers more than likely staying with the team, Las Vegas is expected to sign a receiver who knows Caroll very well. Former Seahawks and All-Pro receiver Tyler Lockett is expected to sign a deal and reunite with Caroll. Not only that, but Lockett knows Geno Smith very. According to the report on the signing from ESPN, Lockett caught ” 212 passes for 2,527 yards and 16 touchdowns in 50 games” when catching balls from Smith. More news: Raiders Predicted to Unload Multiple Key Players Before NFL Trade Deadline The Raiders are currently 2-5 on the season, and though they are not out of the running for the postseason, a couple more losses will ensure that happens. They are expected to be sellers at the trade deadline, but bringing in Lockett signals that may not be the case. Las Vegas has shown flashes of brilliance in its five losses, but the team has not looked like the playoff-caliber squad that was expected with Caroll and offensive coordinator Chip Kelly being brought in. Still, if the Raiders do keep Meyers in the lineup and sign Lockett, this may be the biggest clue that the team is not going to offload their stars for draft capital.
