LOADINGERROR LOADING Charlamagne Tha God didn’t hold back on shredding multiple Democratic Party leaders on Wednesday’s episode of “The Daily Show.” After playing a clip of House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) referring to Republicans as “the party of lawlessness and disorder,” the radio host asked a brutal question: Advertisement “So why is Hakeem Jeffries talking like he’s Chuck E. Cheese Obama? Like, what are we doing? What are we doing? Come on, man. Come on,” he began. “Clearly, the Democrats don’t have the leaders they need to meet the moment,” Charlamagne continued. “OK, fine. Anyone who was a fan of sports knows, sometimes, you need a rebuilding year. OK, get some draft picks, develop young talent. And at some point, the old guys need to retire.” He went on to argue that Democrats should be focused on “picking exciting new candidates.” Charlamagne then played footage of 77-year-old Maine Gov. Janet Mills (D), who was “heavily recruited” by Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) to run for Senate. If Mills triumphs in the election, she will become the oldest freshman senator ever. Advertisement “This is the new candidate, OK? She shouldn’t be running for Senate. She should be throwing her Titanic necklace back into the ocean,” he quipped. Charlamagne also slammed Schumer and other Democrats for not supporting 34-year-old democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani in the New York City mayoral race. Advertisement After playing a clip of Schumer awkwardly avoiding a question about why he hasn’t endorsed Mamdani yet, the podcast host poked fun at the politician’s energy, telling the audience that someone needs to “go reboot” Schumer. In another blow, he scolded Democrats for pushing former President Joe Biden in the 2024 presidential campaign despite his disastrous debate against now-President Donald Trump. “That’s not the kind of leadership we’re looking for, OK?” Charlamagne said. “These are the same Democratic leaders that shove their shitty candidates down our throats and say we have to support them because it’s vote blue no matter who. Hell, you did it after Joe Biden shat the bed in the debate.” Advertisement Elsewhere in the segment, the “Breakfast Club” host complained that Democrats “act like they’ll get a cookie for being the most rational people in the room.” “No one cares. You’re trying to get voters,” he said. Charlamagne has taken a fair number of shots at the GOP as well. In August, he claimed that the MAGA base was losing its power following the Trump administration’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.
