EXCLUSIVE: Quantify has acquired worldwide sales rights to the YA adventure thriller The Queen’s Jewels, starring Carson Rowland, Katherine McNamara, Michael Evans Behling and Natalie Martinez, for an AFM launch. It will mark the first AFM for the film sales and distribution company which officially launched at Cannes Marché du Film last May. Directed by Joshua Friedman and produced by Linda Duncombe, The Queen’s Jewels draws inspiration from true accounts of treasure hunters off the east coast of Florida. “This film is an action-packed adventure for the whole family. The cast are terrific and the locations are stunning,” says Friedman. “After 10+ years of working in the entertainment industry, this film is one that pays homage to my love of filmmaking and entertaining the audience.” Rowland (Sweet Magnolias, Sweet Little Lies: Original Sin) stars as protagonist Beau, who with a group of unlikely new friends uncover a 300-year-old puzzle that could lead to a legendary missing treasure. As they race to crack the code, they must stay one step ahead of a dangerous criminal crew with their own deadly agenda. “We’re thrilled to share this high-energy, family adventure with buyers,” said Itzchak Maghen, Quantify’s VP of Worldwide Sales. “With a dynamic young cast led by Carson Rowland, Katherine McNamara, and Michael Evans Behling, it’s a fresh and cinematic take on the classic treasure hunt.” Quantify is a collaboration between Nu Boyana Studios, Dark Matter Studios, Government Island, and Film Forge Media. Its AFM slate current sales slate also includes erotic thriller Blurred, starring Alex Pettyfer and Guy Pearce; and Bulgarian horror Samodiva, featuring Jack Parr, Sophie Craig, and Richard Brake. The latter film is currently in production at Nu Boyana Studios and marks the latest collaboration between Quantify and Film Forge Media.
