Hearts of Oak board member Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe has urged the Ghana Football Association’s Disciplinary Committee to sanction referee Reginald Collins Amoah over what he described as a poor performance in Sunday’s clash against Asante Kotoko. The Phobians suffered a 1-0 defeat to their archrivals in the Matchday 10 fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium, with Guinean forward Morifing Donzo scoring from the penalty spot in the first half. Controversy arose late in the game when Mawuli Wayo’s stoppage-time equaliser was disallowed for offside — a decision that drew the ire of Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe. “I call on the GFA to discipline Referee Reginald Collins Amoah. He is incompetent,” he told Asempa FM. “Either he is incompetent or somebody has put money into his hands.” “This sort of nonsense is what I hate in this country. When the thing is wrong, it is wrong irrespective of who has committed that offense," he added. Meanwhile, the GFA’s Disciplinary Committee has charged Hearts of Oak and midfielder Mohammed Hussein for misconduct during the same match. According to a statement from the GFA, the club failed to control its players and supporters, who threw objects onto the pitch after the final whistle. Hussein has also been accused of assaulting referee Amoah as he left the field under police escort. Both the club and the player have until Tuesday, November 11, to respond to the charges.
