Police Charge Teacher, Boyfriend For Allegedly Grooming And Trafficking 16-Year-Old Student

A Nebraska teacher and her boyfriend were arrested Friday and charged with sex trafficking a 16-year-old student, according to a press release from the Holdrege Police Department. Elizabeth Jamie Love and her boyfriend, Jarid “Jack” Krause were each charged with sex trafficking of a minor, the Holdrege Police Department said in the same press release. Love was also charged with one count of sexual grooming by a school employee. The pair’s arrest follows an investigation from the Holdrege Police Department in conjunction with multiple agencies, including the Nebraska Department of Justice, after one of Love’s current students reported inappropriate interactions with her and Krause, police said. (REPORT: Cook Caught On Video Stealing Secret Recipes From Celebrity Chef, Police Say) According to People, Love is a transition coordinator and teacher of the deaf at Education Service Unit 11 (ESU-11), which helps to oversee public schools in southern Nebraska. During a forensic interview, the 16-year-old told police she had worked with Love since she was in seventh grade and that “they have developed a close relationship which has evolved into talking about things going on in [her] life beyond the normal scope of a speech therapist/educator,” the outlet reported, citing an arrest affidavit. The student also planned to move in with Love so she could attend school in another district and would communicate with Love via text messages, Facebook Messenger, and non-school email addresses, according to the same affidavit. In August 2025, the 16-year-old was in Love’s car when she took a phone call from Krause. Krause allegedly told Love he wanted to have sex with her, and Love later told the minor student she “would be willing to share” Krause with her. The student was uncomfortable and canceled plans to attend the State Fair with Love by asking her aunt to come pick her up, according to the affidavit. Then, on Oct. 11, the student claimed Love picked her up and brought her to her house, and Krause led her to an upstairs bedroom, making a request she believed was for sex. Love purportedly apologized to the student and told her not to tell anyone about either incident, giving her $100 in $20 increments. Love claimed the money was not “hush money,” but a gift intended to help the student purchase a cell phone, according to the same affidavit. Additionally, text exchanges between the couple obtained by law enforcement appear to show them discussing propositioning the student and “[finding] our person.” Love and Krause are both being held on $250,000 bond at the Phelps County Jail, according to the Holdrege Police Department. They were set to appear in court Monday. If convicted, the pair faces up to life in prison and lifetime placement on the Nebraska Sex Offender Registry. Love’s page on the ESU-11’s staff directory appears to have been deleted as of writing. The Daily Caller contacted the Holdrege Police Department, which directed us to the same press release, but declined to comment further due to the case being an “open investigation.”
