PlayStation exclusives on Xbox? Microsoft’s next-gen console may change everything: Check likely features, specs, price, and launch timeline

AgenciesAccording to reports, the new age Xbox console might cost a fortune Microsoft is reportedly developing a next-generation Xbox console designed to blur the lines between console and PC gaming. The new system is expected to feature a complete version of Windows, combined with a TV-optimized interface for easy navigation, and will support games from PlayStation, Steam, Battle.net, and the entire Xbox library — past and present.Windows Integration and User ExperienceThe upcoming Xbox will run on a full Windows operating system, layered with a console-style dashboard for a familiar user experience. Similar to Microsoft’s handheld devices like the Xbox Ally series, this setup will allow players to enjoy an “Xbox Full Screen Experience” while still being able to switch to traditional Windows mode.Unlike a typical gaming PC, the new Xbox will feel like a dedicated console from the moment it’s turned on. Players can stay entirely within the Xbox ecosystem or switch to Windows to access games usually unavailable on consoles — such as PlayStation titles via Steam, or mouse-and-keyboard-first games like League of Legends.Broad Game CompatibilityAccording to Windows Central, the console will allow users to play PlayStation’s PC ports — including God of War, Ghost of Tsushima, and Spider-Man — when purchased through Steam or Epic Games. It will also support Battle.net titles like World of Warcraft and older PC games from platforms such as GOG.Additionally, the system will be fully backward compatible, supporting games from the original Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S generations, all accessible through a unified Xbox Launcher. Developers are expected to gradually release optimized versions of their titles for this new hardware to enhance performance and visuals.Live EventsPerformance and OptimizationMicrosoft is reportedly focusing on solving long-standing PC gaming issues, such as shader compilation delays and Windows performance overheads, to ensure faster load times and smoother gameplay. The console will also remove the multiplayer paywall for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, allowing users to play online without any extra fees.Cross-Platform StrategyBy enabling access to titles from PlayStation, Steam, and Battle.net, Microsoft is positioning its next Xbox as a universal gaming hub. This move could redefine cross-platform gaming, offering players one device to experience virtually any major title, regardless of its original platform. The TV-optimized interface will make the experience seamless for controller users, transforming the console into a living room-friendly entertainment center that retains the flexibility of a gaming PC.Price and Launch TimelineAs per Windows Central, Microsoft’s next-generation Xbox is expected to launch in 2027. The report added that the company’s economies of scale may help reduce production costs. However, some said the console could be priced between $1,000 and $1,500, depending on configuration and hardware components.Add as a Reliable and Trusted News Source Add Now!
