These 12 people will speak at TEDxSurrey in January 2026

Sales of “early bird premium” tickets start Nov. 1 for the 2026 edition of TEDxSurrey, returning to Bell Performing Arts Centre on Saturday, Jan. 24. For an eighth year, the daytime event is curated by Alan Warburton, licensee. “The last two years have been exceptional for TEDxSurrey,” he said. “Of 24 speakers at our two events in 2024 and 2025, 10 were recognized by TED for the outstanding quality of their talks. This is a direct reflection of the quality of our curation and coaching teams.” The forum of technology, entertainment and design (TED) sees 12 “extraordinary” people talk about a wide range of topics, each in 18 minutes of stage time, plus entertainment, lunch (free with a ticket) and refreshments. “Step into a world of inspiration” on tedxsurrey.ca, where early-bird tickets are sold for $89 ($109 regular price). “We anticipate that tickets will sell quickly. Last year we sold out,” Warburton noted. The 12 speakers at the 2026 TEDxSurrey are Dr. Brenda Lau (“dual-fellowship anesthesiologist, pain specialist, and hypnotherapist”), Darren Radford (“purpose-driven strategist and transformation specialist”), Hargun Dhillon (“award-winning UBC student and founder of Age Strong Unity Wellness Society”), Jerry Zheng (“pianist, community builder and founder of the Grace Notes Initiative”), Jessi Beyer (“best-selling author, crisis mental health clinician, and SWAT team negotiator”), Karina Inkster (“fitness and nutrition coach, five-time author and 23-year vegan”), Dr. Kim Foster (“former family physician turned author and identity-based wellness expert”), Laura Prather (“human rights attorney and Fulbright Scholar”), Lei Wang (“Wharton-trained former finance professional turned leadership strategist”), Matthew Jodouin (“mindset coach and founder of transformational programs”), Meghan Neufeld (“nonprofit leader and storyteller who reimagines how dignity and equity shape communities”) and Dr. Vanessa Lapointe (“psychologist, parenting educator and best-selling author who helps adults see the world through a child’s eyes”).
