STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Planet Fitness will soon open its third Staten Island location, filling a vacant retail spot in the recently revamped Hylan Commons shopping plaza at the corner of Hylan Boulevard and New Dorp Lane. “Our brand-new location will feature state-of-the-art equipment, the PF Black Card Spa, clean locker rooms, and super-friendly team members,” the gym noted on its website. “Whether you’re a first-time gym user or a fitness veteran, you’ll always have a home in our Judgement Free Zone.” Located at 430 New Dorp Lane, the gym is situated directly next to discount grocer Aldi, which opened for business in June. Planet Fitness is one of several new businesses to open in the strip mall this year. Wonder, the tech-driven food hall known for its multi-restaurant ordering, recently opened in the plaza, as did a branch of the Vietnamese restaurant chain Pho Today. Shake Shack is scheduled to open its third borough restaurant there on Friday, Oct. 31.
