SALUDA COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) - Piedmont Technical College broke ground on its new Saluda Center for Manufacturing Excellence on Tuesday. The center is a 23,000-square-foot facility that will provide training for careers in welding, mechatronics and machining. The center is designed to serve students in surrounding rural counties who previously had to travel long distances for this type of technical training. “Often times students, families have to travel so far to get this level of training at this type of facility, but with this collaboration, Piedmont Tech is bringing this training to the community,” said President Hope Rivers. The project is expected to cost more than $14 million. Construction is planned to be completed in spring 2027. Feel more informed, prepared, and connected with WIS.
