BAY CITY, MI – A physical rehabilitation clinic in Bay City is undergoing an expansion as it looks to increase its capacity to serve patients. The Renue Physical Therapy clinic at the Dow Bay Area Family YMCA, located at 225 Washington Ave., will feature an expanded treatment area nearly double its previous size. Renue officials announced the news this week. Renue Physical Therapy is an outpatient physical therapy company with 17 locally owned clinics throughout mid-Michigan. The clinic at the Dow Bay Area Family YMCA offers multiple services for patients of all ages and activity levels, including manual therapy, targeted exercise programs, and evidence-based rehabilitation approaches. “With this additional space, we can welcome more patients, expand our team of expert therapists, and offer an even greater range of treatment options to help people live their healthiest, most active lives,” Renue Physical Therapy CEO Tony Klapish said in a statement. The expansion will also accommodate the growing demand for physical therapy in the area, according to Renue officials. The clinic is in the YMCA’s upper-level gymnasium, which is also where the previous clinic was located. Due to its location, the clinic’s patients are able to access the YMCA’s fitness equipment. The partnership between the clinic and the YMCA began in May 2024. “This expansion reflects the incredible response we’ve received from the Bay City community and the success of our partnership with the YMCA,” Klapish said. The clinic’s lead physical therapist, Kristen Rice, who is a doctor of physical therapy, will move into the space once the expansion is complete. Construction on the expanded space is set to be completed in November. “We’re thrilled to see Renue thrive within our facility,” Dow Bay Area Family YMCA CEO Steve Krankota said in a statement. “This collaboration and expansion shows the shared mission of helping people achieve lasting health and wellness, and we are proud to be able to offer these services on-site to our members and the community.” A YMCA membership is not required to receive care at the clinic, which also offers a free 15-minute consultation, during which patients will learn more about how to achieve personalized goals through physical therapy.
