Get ready to walk down the most famous street in the world of children's television right here in Phoenix, because Sesame Street Week is coming to our local libraries. From November 10th through the 15th, the Phoenix Public Library invites families to partake in a spectrum of activities dedicated to the longstanding educational show. At various libraries, including the Burton Barr Central Library, and its affiliates like Ironwood, Mesquite, and Palo Verde, programs geared toward early learning and digital literacy await the public. There's a workshop called "Raising Kids in a Digital World" for the modern parent and caretaker. This event aims to navigate the tricky waters of technology and screentime, and it's just the start of an inspiring lineup. Keeping up with the theme, Yucca Library is the cherry on top for the tiny tots with a "Special Sesame Street Storytime" scheduled for November 14 at 9:30 a.m. Not to be missed are the "Magic Puppet Tea Parties" at Agave and Burton Barr Libraries, adding an extra spoonful of imagination and interaction for children and their caregivers alike. Then there's the Burton Barr Central Library, which is also doubling as a nostalgia haven with special displays that trace the footprints of Sesame Street, coupled with a tribute to Arizona's Joan Ganz Cooney, one of the luminaries behind the creation of this cherished series. For an exhaustive list of events or to simply get more information, visitors are encouraged to check out the library website, and remember to share the educational merriment on Facebook and Instagram @PhoenixPublicLibrary because truly, Sesame Street Week is crafting an exceptional space for children and families to engage in the joy of learning and the value of community connection, very much like the storybook neighborhood we've all come to adore.
