Peter Andre's 'intense pain' after devastating family loss

Peter Andre opens up in his latest column about the heartbreaking reminder of loss he felt after hearing the tragic news of Holly Hagan’s sister Darci passing away at just 19. The singer and TV star reflects on the pain of losing his own brother Andrew, admitting the news brought back “intense” emotions and memories that never truly fade. Always open and thoughtful, Peter shares his heartfelt sympathy for Holly and her family, describing grief as “a feeling you can’t lock back up.” The proud dad also reveals how special it was to attend this year’s Pride of Britain Awards with wife Emily and their children Junior and Princess – calling it “the most humbling night of the year.” Elsewhere, he reacts with disbelief to the €88 million jewel heist at the Louvre, shares plans to bring back regular date nights with Emily now that baby Belle is growing up, and admits he’s hooked on Celebrity Traitors – though he’s not ruling out joining the show one day himself... I went to the Pride of Britain Awards last week with Emily, Junior and Princess and wow, it was so humbling, as it is every year. Hearing the stories of those ordinary people who have done extraordinary things reminds you of the goodness in people and in the world. I sometimes struggle to keep my emotions in check, especially when it’s an award involving a parent and child, but it’s the absolute highlight of the year and we wouldn’t miss it for the world. Emily and I have been to the Louvre in Paris and both loved it, so we could not believe the heist that happened there recently. I mean seriously, how can jewels worth €88m be stolen in broad daylight? I thought it was a skit at first! The thing I never understand is, where do these things end up? There’s no way whoever has them will just admire them alone for their rest of their lives, and never show another person. So, I think eventually word will spread about their whereabouts and hopefully they can be brought back. Belle is now a year-and-a-half, and Emily and I have decided to book regular date nights again. When kids are young, it’s easy to forget what it’s like to be a couple, as well as parents. Emily and I are really, really good friends and I think we might’ve forgotten how much fun we have - and how much we make each other laugh. We went away for a belated birthday trip recently, and we already have our next date in the diary. I can’t wait. I can’t imagine how Holly Hagan must be feeling after losing her sister at 19. It’s such a young age. I lost my brother Andrew at 54, and the pain was intense, so I feel awful for other people going through a similar experience, especially with a sibling who was so young. It unlocks a feeling you can’t lock back up, so I hope she’s able to find some comfort in the love and support of those around her at the moment. What I love the most about Celebrity Traitors is how you get to see people in such a different environment. Presenters like Jonathan Ross and Alan Carr are usually the ones directing the spotlight onto people, so it’s absolutely fascinating seeing it working the other way around. And with legends like Stephen Fry and Celia Imrie on the show, it’s no wonder it’s so popular. Would I go on it, though? Never say never….
