Pete Wicks has playfully called out his close friend, Sam Thompson , after being snubbed from a double date, leaving him feeling "sad, lonely and depressed". The revelation emerged during an episode of the Staying Relevant podcast on October 27, where Pete disclosed that co-host Sam had half-heartedly extended an invitation to join a double date over the weekend. It appears Pete was set to fill what he felt would be an uncomfortable spot at the Sunday roast, so he "declined" the offer, claiming it would be too "lovey-dovey". The Strictly Come Dancing and former The Only Way Is Essex star also suggested the invitation was "sort of an invite that was thrown out there". An amused Sam, who is reportedly in a relationship with model Talitha Balinska , swiftly defended himself. Pete explained: "It was sort of an invite that was thrown out there because he said he was gonna see me and then made it a double date. So, then I said, 'Am I still seeing you later?'." After Sam clarified the guest list, Pete claims his mate told him he was "more than welcome". He went on: "Now, what that says to me is, 'Come if you want, but it will be weird, and we don't want you there. We don't want you there, alright, because we're going to be lovey-dovey feeding each other at the table and all the rest of it, and it might be weird for you to sit there'. "You know, 'I know you're sad, lonely and depressed, so it might be too much for you'." As he spoke, Sam could be heard laughing in the background, declaring that Pete was "wrong" and his allegations were "not true". Once Pete had finished making his point, Sam insisted the Strictly star was "always invited" and was, in fact, one of the "first invited" to the Sunday roast. He also clarified that the other guests who were supposed to attend had "dropped out", turning the gathering into a double date . Pete chimed in, expressing that a part of him wishes he'd simply "gone and just sat there". Sam responded that he would have "loved that", but Pete suspects this wouldn't have been the case, as it would have detracted from the romantic atmosphere of the occasion. This follows claims that Pete shared what one fan described as an "aggressive" kiss with his former Strictly dance partner, Jowita Przystal , during a live podcast at London's O2 Arena. On September 19, Pete and Jowita performed a routine they'd initially prepared for the Strictly final before their elimination, and during the performance, the pair shared three kisses. Both Pete and Sam addressed the moment, with the latter asserting it wasn't an "aggressive" kiss and that it was merely choreography, insisting they should "put that out there right now". Pete echoed Sam's sentiment, adding: "But yeah, it was part of the choreography."
