The "Saturday Night Live" alum — who is expecting his first baby with pregnant girlfriend Elsie Hewitt — made a surprise return to the NBC sketch comedy series Nov. 8, where he joked about how gearing up to be a dad has already impacted his lifestyle. During the Weekend Update segment, Davidson joined Colin Jost to discuss a New York Times article about the decommissioned Staten Island Ferry they purchased together in 2022, though he admitted he hadn’t read the story firsthand. “In case you’re wondering why I had to do a show in Saudi Arabia, we’re losing millions on this ferry,” Davidson told the audience. “I assume that’s what the article says. I can’t spend $5 on a paywall when I got a kid on the way.” Indeed, the 31-year-old — who last appeared on SNL as a guest host in 2023 — compared the anticipation of becoming a parent to his eight-season tenure on the long-running program, though perhaps not for the right reasons. So I'd do anything for Lorne, and he knows that.” For now, though, the "Bodies Bodies Bodies" actor is focused on being the best dad he can be when his little one arrives. “I'm very lucky and very, very happy,” he told E!
