It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of our travel colleague, Cormac Walsh, Founder and Managing Director of JWT Sports and part of the JWT Travel family. Cormac, along with his brothers David and Barry, continued the family legacy founded by their late father Joe Walsh (RIP) — a pioneer of the Irish travel trade who established Joe Walsh Tours in 1961. So many from the travel industry learned the ropes in local travel agencies like Joe Walsh Tours. Over the years, JWT Travel has evolved and reinvented itself many times, with JWT Sports, founded by Cormac, becoming the official travel partner of Leinster Rugby and other major sporting organisations. Like many in our industry, much like my own family, travel was in Cormac’s blood. The business was a true family affair, built on passion, service, and a deep love of travel. From everyone at ITTN, our heartfelt condolences go out to the Walsh family, the JWT team, and to all friends and colleagues who had the pleasure of knowing him. Funeral Details: Removal will take place on Friday morning, 7th November, to Holy Cross Church, Dundrum, arriving for Funeral Mass at 12.15pm, followed by private burial. May he rest in peace.
