A paramedic was allegedly attacked while trying to help a Rangers fan who fell ill during Sunday's Old Firm. The Gers supporter suffered a medical emergency in the West Stand at Hampden Park during the Premier Sports Cup semi-final match on November 2. An ambulance crew was called to the scene around 4pm to assist the unwell punter. Ambulance Service bosses claim one of their medics was attacked while giving first aid. A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were contacted at 15.59 to attend an incident on 2 November at Hampden Park. "A paramedic and an ambulance crew were dispatched to the scene, arriving two minutes later. "Whilst attempting to treat the patient, one of our staff was assaulted and this is being investigated by Police Scotland . The patient was treated and discharged at the scene." The spokesperson added: "We strongly condemn violence and aggression against our staff. It is not acceptable. "They have the right to carry out their work helping patients and saving lives without fear of assault or abuse." They say the supporter was treated and then discharged at the scene. Police Scotland are now probing the incident. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were made aware of a man having taken unwell during the Celtic v Rangers match at Hampden Park on Sunday, 2 November, 2025. "Emergency services attended and a paramedic was assaulted while attempting to treat the man. Enquiries are ongoing. We continue to liaise with partners and are reviewing the circumstances of the incident." Rangers FC has been contacted for comment.
