Owner Told To Shave Dog for Vet—No One Can Cope With the Result

A dog’s reaction to his grooming job has left the internet in hysterics. Reddit user u/Same_Lab_3023 shared a photo of their freshly shaved pup, Remy, ahead of a veterinary appointment—and his reaction has been cracking people up across the internet. The post, shared to the popular subreddit r/aww, has since garnered more than 3,300 upvotes. “Had to get the lil guy shaved for the vet, needless to say he isn’t happy with me,” they wrote. The accompanying image showed Remy sporting an uneven shave and an unmistakably unimpressed expression, which only added to the humor. According to Wag!, the area to be shaved is based on what type of surgery the dog is about to undergo—for example, when a dog is being spayed their abdomen may be shaved “from the sternum all the way to the groin” to create a sterile operating field that is free of hair and other debris. Wag! explains that while pet owners can do the preliminary shave themselves, the veterinary technician will still remove hair and prepare the site again to ensure proper sterilization. The guide also emphasizes caution: only use sharp clipper blades so you don’t snag hairs and tear the skin, and if you ever use tranquilizer it must be vet-approved In the comments, Redditors couldn’t help but react to Remy’s hilarious transformation. But, I would plan on sleeping with one eye open tonight,” shared another user. “What a beautiful rat,” joked another user. “Bless his heart. He’s angry and embarrassed,” said another viewer. “I am a little sad Dr Seuss isn’t alive to turn him into a book character,” shared another viewer. “He wants a sweater. Maybe some pants. But definitely upset with you. Stay safe,” joked another viewer. “I would be too, wtf kind of cut is that. Adorable nonetheless, hope his vet visit went well,” shared another user. Remy might not be thrilled with his new look, but for Reddit, his haircut is pure comedy gold. Newsweek reached out to u/Same_Lab_3023 for comment via Reddit.
