Owen Hargreaves is a former Manchester United player who played for the Red Devils 27 times in his three years at the club. The now 44-year-old, who had been at Bayern Munich prior to joining United, scored twice during his Red Devils era and won both the Premier League and UEFA Champions League with Manchester United – who were managed by Sir Alex Ferguson at the time. Following his spell at Old Trafford, the former professional went onto join local rivals Manchester City where he played a part in the Citizens winning the 2011-12 Premier League title but was released after this and did not play for another club after training with Queens Park Rangers. Since retiring, Owen Hargreaves has entered the media sector of football with the 44-year-old appearing on TNT Sports as a Premier League pundit and CNN as a football analyst. Now, the former Manchester United player has named the one player he likens to current Liverpool star Mohammed Salah. Speaking on TNT Sports following United’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur yesterday, the 44-year-old stated: “I think his [Bryan Mbeumo] biggest attribute is that he gives quality. “He reminds me of Mohamed Salah in and around the box. When he gets it, he has a clear picture of exactly what he wants. “Whether the finish is near post or back post, he almost shows no emotion. “It’s just business in and around the box, and I love that. “You can play it into his feet, he can dribble. [Peter] Crouch mentioned his touch and how sharp he is. “Technically, I don’t think he gets enough credit.”
