Over 3,000 applications have been disposed of in the last 17 district-level Janata Darshan events, district in-charge Minister Santosh Lad said in Kalghatgi on Tuesday. He was speaking after inaugurating the 18th Janata Darshan there. “Such public grievance meetings are being organized to listen to and resolve the problems of the people of the district. Officials have resolved many problems through Janata Darshan. While some problems have been resolved on the spot, other problems have been resolved by the departments concerned in a short time. These meetings have been helpful in resolving many issues, including widow’s pension, old age pension, caste and income certificate, land encroachment, drinking water, toilets, electricity connection, transportation issues,” he said. Parashuram Patil, who is working as an outsourced employee at the Karnataka Medical College and Research Institute, complained to the Minister that his salary has been delayed for three-four months. The Minister instructed the officials of the institute to resolve the problem immediately. Rehman Khadarsab Nadaf of Mavinakoppa village appealed to the Minister that the Forest Department has encroached upon his agricultural land. Mr. Lad then instructed the officials to take immediate action to resolve the problem. Basavaraj Bellada of Misrikoti village told the Minister that his crop has been damaged due to heavy rain and the crop insurance has been delayed. Mr. Lad instructed the officials to provide crop insurance compensation to him. Shankar Ramu Lamani told the Minister that he has been wandering around for a year to acquire his property. Renuka Devendra Lamani said that she has applied for a dairy farming project. But she has not been selected for the project even after a year. The Minister instructed the officials to take action. The government high school in Jinur village has been without drinking water, electricity and any minimum facilities for the past one year. She appealed to the Minister to provide the necessary facilities. The Minister asked the officials concerned to take appropriate action. Chairman of the District Level Guarantee Scheme Implementation S.R. Patil, Deputy Commissioner Divya Prabhu G.R.J., Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Bhuvanesh Patil, District Superintendent of Police Gunjan Arya, Managing Director of North West Karnataka Road Transport Corporation M. Priyanga, Managing Director of Hubballi Electricity Supply Company Limited Vaishnavi M.L., Additional Commissioner Shalam Hussain and others were present.
