In other results, Pafos edged Villarreal 1–0, and Newcastle United asserted their dominance once again at St. James’ Park with a 2–0 win over Athletic Bilbao. Bayern Munich, Arsenal, and Inter Milan currently occupy the top three spots in the group standings with 12 points each, while Manchester City sit fourth with 10 points. Real Madrid, Liverpool, Newcastle United, and Galatasaray follow with nine points apiece, while Barcelona, Chelsea, and Borussia Dortmund are struggling mid-table with seven points each.
