UK households are being alerted over free 25 hours worth of electricity you could snag in November. Free hours of electricity will be available throughout next month for those who download the free Uswitch app and sign up to the scheme, according to Sky Money. But, Brits have just 48 hours to sign up to the initiative, which works by households receiving a notification each week in November to pick a five-hour free electricity time slot for the upcoming weekend. And for those concerned about what energy supplier you are with - it doesn't matter - every company can apply for the initiative. READ MORE: Tesco shares exact way to access Christmas delivery slots one week early Uswitch told the Express: “Sign up before 31 October to take advantage of another great way to save on energy costs just as the energy price cap increases. “Power up all of your hoovering, laundry and other household chores done – on us!” To qualify for the initiative, you need to make sure you connect your smart meter to your downloaded app by October 31. Once the application is on your device, you will be able to select from Saturday morning, Saturday afternoon, Sunday morning and Sunday afternoon for your free power. Uswitch added: “As long as you have your electricity smart meter connected to the Uswitch app by 31 October, the 25 hours of free electricity is available to you no matter who your energy provider is. “If you’re part of a demand flexibility scheme (DFS) with your energy provider, you’ll still be able to participate in this offer as well. For 25 years, we’ve been helping customers save on their electricity bills. "Now, we’re helping customers to get ahead of higher energy costs this winter with 25 hours of free electricity across 5 weekends this November. “This exclusive offer is part of our Power Hours scheme, where you can earn with your smart meter year-round. To get this offer, all you have to do is connect your smart meter and sign up to Power Hours with the Uswitch app by 31 October.”
