Bhubaneswar: The 292nd Board of Directors meeting of Odisha Construction Corporation Ltd (OCCL) was held Monday under the chairpersonship of Anu Garg, Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary, Water Resources department. During the meeting, it was revealed that projects worth Rs 3,673 crore are in the pipeline, including mechanical works worth Rs 86 crore and projects from various departments such as Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, Science and Technology, and Tourism. Under the Tourism Department, OCCL will execute the integrated development and upgradation of the Hirakud reservoir master plan, which includes a light and sound symphony, arrival plaza, and dam museum, with a total cost exceeding Rs 100 crore. The Kusabhadra In-Stream Storage Structure (ISS) project is scheduled for completion by June 2026, while the Kuakhai ISS will be finished by December 2026. The completion of these two major projects will pave the way for the development of a scenic riverfront near Bhubaneswar and contribute to the rejuvenation of the dying Prachi River.
