By DayakDaily Team KUCHING, Oct 26: The Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, has arrived in Singapore ahead of his keynote address at the Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW) 2025, themed ‘Empowering the Energy Transition: Building Resilient Futures’. According to TVS, the Premier is scheduled to deliver his keynote address titled ‘Advancing Sustainable Hydropower and Regional Energy Integration’ at the SIEW Summit tomorrow (Oct 27), where he is expected to highlight Sarawak’s leadership in renewable hydropower and its role in strengthening regional energy cooperation. His arrival follows participation at the Asean Business and Investment Summit (ABIS) 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, which focused on energy transition and sustainable growth across the region. While in Singapore, the Premier will meet representatives from PFYN Capital AG, MASDAR, and Blueleaf Energy/Chemsain to explore collaboration in hydropower, hydrogen, and low-carbon technology investments. Sarawak’s participation in SIEW reflects its growing role as a regional clean energy leader. Under the Sarawak Energy Transition Policy (SET-P), Sarawak Hydrogen Economy Roadmap (SHER), and Sarawak Sustainability Blueprint 2030 (SSB 2030), the state aims to achieve 10 gigawatts of generation capacity by 2030, while creating 80,000 green jobs and attracting global investment. — DayakDaily
