Northwest Sonoma County elementary school closed due to power failure

An Annapolis elementary school is closed Wednesday due to a power failure, officials said. Horicon Elementary, located in the unincorporated community a few miles east of Sea Ranch, will be closed all day, Sonoma County Office of Education spokesperson Eric Wittmershaus said in an emailed statement. The elementary serves children from TK to eighth grade. An outage around Annapolis affecting five customers began about 6:26 a.m. and is ongoing, according to the Pacific Gas and Electric, Co. website. Crews located a downed power line and will be working on repairs.
