NFL Fans in Agreement About Under-the-Radar MVP Pick

For a league that governs one day a week and shares it with other sports for two different days, the NFL sure moves fast. We are now officially in mid-season form in professional football, and with that comes the debate about who is the season's MVP frontrunner. The NFL's social team took to X on Tuesday afternoon and posed the question, "Who ya got for MVP?" The choices that appeared on the social media post was last year's winner, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, former MVP QB Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs, New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye, and speed-demon Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor. With the MVP race a tightly contested one, many took to the comments to let their voices be heard on who they feel should be in the conversation and who might be left out. One fan base in particular flooded the NFL's post: Philadelphia Eagles fans, who made the case that Super Bowl-winning quarterback Jalen Hurts was egregiously left out of the conversation. Hurts currently outranks Allen in most stats, as he's thrown for 1,677 yards (11th in the NFL), is tied for sixth in touchdowns with 15, and has only one interception — and fans weren't afraid to point it out in the comment section. "Jalen Hurts currently has a 15-1 TD-INT ratio with 20 total TDS, all while having 0 run game all year until this week and an O-line that ranks 28th this year, who has better stats than 2 of the 3 QB’s listed here an yet he’s not on here. Haters can say what they want but it’s bs," one fan wrote. "Hurts has more tds, more passing tds, less ints, more yards and a better record than Allen," another added. "LMFAO JOSH ALLEN ON HERE BUT NOT HURTS," a third fan replied. "HOW IS JALEN HURTS NOT IN HERE I CANT WITH YALL MAN," asked one user. Other cases being made in the comments were that Taylor will get overlooked after his impressive game on Sunday against the Titans simply because he's a running back and not a QB, and some argued that Green Bay Packers QB Jordan Love should be in the conversation too. One way or another, we will find out on the eve of the Super Bowl who this year's best individual player is. Whether it was on this tweet or not.
