Welcome back to Pursuits Weekly, our look at the big culture stories of the week, as well as ideas and recommendations around travel, dining, art, luxury and living. Sign up here to get it every Saturday in your inbox. While last week’s mystery of whom is selling a solid-gold toilet has been answered (it’s Steve Cohen!), there’s another burning question we’re all asking ourselves this morning: Why buy one plane ticket when you can buy two? The top travel recommendation of the week comes from Barry Biffle, the chief executive officer of Frontier Airlines, who said on LinkedIn that “given the risk of flights cancelling I would suggest passengers buy a backup ticket on another carrier that departs after the first ticket.” Alternatively, maybe just don’t fly at all? My advice, which I’ve somehow failed to post on LinkedIn: Tell everyone that your flight was canceled and curl up with a good book and a cozy cocktail instead. Beats even Amtrak.
