Ex-Pittsburgh Steelers offensive lineman Kevin Dotson admitted that his behind the scenes experiences in Pittsburgh ruined his time with the team. A fourth-round pick by the Steelers out of Louisiana-Lafayette in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Steelers saw Dotson emerge early in his rookie season as a legitimate player. Once that occurred, they gave him the mantle for the next two seasons before signing Seumalo. However, his inconsistencies over his time with the team ended with him being traded to the Rams. Now, reflecting ack on what happened in his first NFL stint, Dotson says there were some experiences that soured it for him. “It’s one of those things where, I wasn’t used to being cold all the time, to start off,” Dotson said on Inside Coverage. “There wasn’t a lot of sun there. Not a lot of stuff to do there. It was like a culture shock, and it really wasn’t in a too positive of a way. I love the team overall, but there was definitely stuff behind the scenes that you’re like, ‘Oh, man. It kind of ruined an experience for me.’ But I still loved being down there, the time I was down there.” Dotson played his college football at Louisiana and is from the Mississippi, which is far different from what he experienced in Pittsburgh during his years in the city. He was originally extremely excited to join the team, as his family were Steelers fans before he joined the team. However, the trade has jumpstarted his career and he is now one of the stalwarts on a standout Rams offensive line.
