Tiger Bite in Mill Street was granted a premises licence by Stafford Borough Council in 2023, to enable it to serve refreshment after 11pm. Planning permission was also granted that year to enable the takeaway to open past 11pm. This was subject to a series of conditions, including operating a delivery-only service after 11pm and restricting delivery times to the premises to between 8am and 6pm. The previous premises licence application in 2023 sparked objections from residents and the borough council’s environmental health department. The latest premises licence application has not received any objections from the council however, a report to the authority’s licensing sub-committee said, and there is no change in the proposed licensed times of 11pm to 3am. It added: “On September 12, 2025 the council received an application for a premises licence. The application was made by Sobeya Akhtar on behalf of the proposed premises licence holder, Stafford Fastfood Ltd. “The same site previously held a premises licence under the premises licence holder Tiger Bite ST16 Ltd. This premises licence lapsed on April 1, 2025 due to the dissolution of the premises licence-holding company. “There have been no objections from any of the responsible authorities. There have been two relevant representations from local residents and businesses who are concerned about potential nuisance from cars and delivery vehicles.” One objector said: “If the application for the premises license is approved it should still have the restrictions that are applied to the current/previous license as there are still flats adjacent, opposite and nearby. Nothing has changed since the previous application but the restrictions should be enforced along with enforcement of parking restrictions for vehicles collecting orders to be delivered.” The other objector said: “This is a conservation area with old people’s flats and almshouses within a short distance. Late night opening will attract juveniles with the ensuing problems of noise and disturbances. “[The] street is very narrow and at night is frequently blocked by illegally parked cars and delivery vehicles.” The council’s licensing sub-committee will meet at 10am on Wednesday, November 5, to consider the latest application.
