Virtual Tech, a local technology firm, has launched Antchito, an app designed to help employers manage domestic workers, shop attendants, and casual laborers efficiently and securely. Virtual Tech managing consultant Blena Chisenga said many employers rely on trust and manual records, which create risks. He said: “Antchito acts as your digital witness. It provides clear, undeniable proof of payments made, leave taken, and documents signed, protecting employers from misunderstandings or false claims.” “For years, employers across Malawi have faced challenges in keeping accurate records of payments, leave, and end-of-service benefits. This has often led to disputes and financial risks. Antchito aims to eliminate these issues by providing a digital platform where all employment details are recorded safely and transparently.” The app offers robust payment tracking, allowing employers to maintain permanent digital records of transactions made online via Mobile Money, bank transfers, or even manual payments with proof uploads. End-of-service benefits are automatically calculated and accrued, ensuring legal compliance for gratuity and pension contributions. Employers can even pay these benefits directly through the app. Beyond finances, Antchito simplifies daily management by tracking leave requests, balances, and storing crucial documents such as contracts and national IDs in a secure digital vault. Integrated reporting features provide accessible summaries of workforce information, giving employers a clear picture of their operations at a glance. The app also features a “Refer and Earn” program, allowing users to earn commissions for introducing other employers to the platform.
