Neutrogena, a popular makeup and skincare brand, has had one of its most famous makeup-removing products recalled by the FDA due to bacterial exposure. On Oct. 3, the FDA issued a Class II recall for Neutrogena Makeup Remover Ultra-Soft Cleansing Towelettes because it tested positive for Pluralibacter gergoviae, a type of bacteria. This bacterium can be found in plants, insects and spring water. A Class II recall means that exposure to this bacteria “may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences,” according to the FDA.
